Duties of peer reviewers
Contribution to editorial decisions
The editorial board will discuss with authors, reviewers and the publishing team as necessary to assist the Editor-in-Chief in making a choice (between accepting or rejecting) and, in some cases, may also assist authors in improving the quality of their work.
Timeliness
Any reviewer who is selected and found to be ineligible to review the author's article or feels unable to complete the review process on time, must immediately notify the Editor-in-Chief so that it can be replaced by another reviewer to complete the review process according to the schedule set by the journal. The following is a timeline of the peer reviewer process in the Journal of Social Dynamics and Science for more details.
Confidentiality
Manuscripts to be evaluated must be handled as confidential manuscripts. Manuscripts should not be displayed or discussed with others unless authorized by the Editor-in-Chief.
Objectivity standard
The review should be conducted objectively. Personal attacks on authors cannot be tolerated. Reviewers should state their opinions clearly and provide adequate supporting evidence.
Acknowledgment of sources
Reviewers should help search for and locate relevant published material not referenced by the authors. References should support previously published claims, observations, derivations or arguments. Reviewers should also draw the Editor's attention to significant similarities or overlaps between the article under consideration and other published data of which they are personally aware.
Disclosure and conflicts of interest
Confidential information or ideas received through peer review should be kept confidential and not exploited for personal gain. Reviewers should avoid reviewing papers in which they compete, collaborate, or have other ties or affiliations with the authors, the company, or the institution to which the paper is submitted.
Author duties
Reporting standards
Authors presenting original research findings should include an accurate description of the work performed and an unbiased evaluation. The underlying data should be appropriately reflected in the manuscript. The manuscript should provide sufficient information and references to enable others to reproduce the work. Deceptive or intentionally false statements are unethical and should be avoided.
Originality and Plagiarism
Authors must ensure that their writing is unique. If authors use other people's work and words, they should reference or cite them adequately.
To check for possible plagiarism, the Turnitin app is used.
Articles must have a plagiarism rate below 25% (excluding Citations and Bibliography).
Plagiarism includes :
- Word-for-word plagiarism. The author uses another author's name (appropriately) without citing the source.
- Plagiarism of sources. The writer uses someone else's idea without giving sufficient acknowledgment (without explicitly mentioning the source).
- Plagiarism of authorship. The author is recognized as the author of someone else's document.
- Multiple, redundant or concurrent publications.
Papers that address the same research results should not be published in more than one journal or other publication by the same author. Submitting the same article simultaneously to more than one publication is an unethical and inappropriate publishing activity.
In this case, if this practice is discovered by the author, the author will automatically be blocklisted by Jurnal Central Publisher.
Source acknowledgment
Authors are required to provide credit in recognition of the work of others. Authors must also reference publications that have influenced the character of the research presented appropriately and correctly. In Central Publisher journals, authors must use one of the reference management tools (Zotero/Endnote/Mendeley).
Manuscript authorship
Authorship should be limited to individuals who significantly contributed to the idea, design, implementation, or interpretation of the research. Co-authors should include all those who made substantial contributions. Others who have contributed to specific substantive areas of the study effort should be acknowledged and listed in the Acknowledgements section The corresponding author should ensure that the author list of the manuscript includes all acceptable co-authors (as defined above) and no inappropriate co-authors, and that all co-authors have seen and approved the final version of the work and approved its submission for publication.
Hazards and human or animal subjects
If experiments are conducted using materials, techniques or equipment instruments that have unique hazards, the authors should adequately disclose them in the report. If the research involves human or animal subjects, authors should include a statement in the manuscript stating that all procedures were performed in accordance with applicable laws and institutional norms and that the appropriate institutional committee has authorized them. Authors should add a statement in their publication stating that consent has been obtained for human subject experiments. In this regard, human rights should always be respected by the authors.
Disclosure and conflicts of interest
Any conflicts of interest, whether financial or substantial and the like, that could be perceived to influence the authors' findings or interpretations in the paper must be disclosed by all authors in their manuscript. All sources of funding for the project should be mentioned.
Fundamental errors in published work
When an author discovers errors or inaccuracies in his/her published work, it is the responsibility of the author to contact the Editor-in-Chief of the journal or the publisher as soon as possible and collaborate with them to withdraw the manuscript or issue a correction policy in accordance with the Crossmark Policy.
Publisher confirmation
In situations where scientific misconduct, publishing fraud, or plagiarism is suspected or proven, Stikes Buana Husada Ponorogo will take all necessary steps to clarify the matter and revise the article in question in consultation with the Editor-in-Chief. This situation requires the application of one of the provisions in the Crossmark Policy of the Journal of Social Dynamics and Science or the retraction of the defective work in its entirety in an impossible situation.
